Position: Alternate Underground Manager
Work Location: Yandal Operations or Carosue Dam
Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off - FIFO ex Perth
Here’s what awaits you:
- Lead and supervise the operational teams including external contractors and/or Northern Star Mining Services.
- Generate operating plans and budgets that align with the Company’s operating requirements and maximise the underground mine’s contribution to the Operation.
- Prepare forecasts and develop mining strategy with assistance from the geology department, mining operations, planning and production engineers.
- Develop mine design, planning guidelines and strategies to optimise mining processes.
- Support the Underground Manager and Mining Manager in their statutory and strategic responsibilities and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain robust succession and talent management frameworks, ensuring defined accountabilities and consistent performance feedback.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience:
Candidates should have technical and leadership experience in large scale underground mining operations, including contractor, project and people management. They should be decisive leaders with the ability to think critically, influence, communicate risks effectively, and deliver practical, value-driven plans.
Experience in multiple mining methods, mine startups and production ramp ups will be highly regarded.
Qualifications:
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
- Site Senior Executive Certificate of Competency (Desireable)
