We are currently seeking an energised Training Advisor to join the Health, Safety, Security, & Training (HSST) Department at the KCGM Super Pit.  

 

You will provide training support that is compliant to the national, corporate and legislative standards and to implement consistent, adequate and auditable training framework. Working a 5:2 4:3 9-hour day roster, this permanent, full-time, Kalgoorlie-based residential role, allows for great work-life balance, and an optimal lifestyle in the Goldfields.

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Develop and support the departmental strategic plan to guide the long-term provision of the training and development function at KCGM.
  • Maintain the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and practices across site to ensure KCGM meets and / or exceeds its internal and external obligations.
  • Ensure competency levels of those NSR & contractor personnel involved with training development, delivery and assessment are appropriately skilled and competent.
  • Determine what training packages and processes will be needed and make recommendations to the Training Coordinator.
  • Liaise with the Health and Safety Department to understand their constraints and challenges following audits, inspections, and incidents. Understand how the learnings can be applied across site from a training and awareness perspective.
  • Engage with the Perth Training team to work through system opportunities, challenges, and upgrades to ensure useability at a site level.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to Crew Trainers and Assessors.
  • Implement and maintain training needs and gap analysis, in conjunction with relevant supervisors and stakeholders (Training Needs Analysis).
  • Develop and organise training procedures for the development of qualified and experienced personnel as required.
  • Diagnose, design, develop and review training materials.
  • Support the coordination of the verification of competency process including High Risk Work Licences and Nationally Accredited qualifications.
  • Coordination of Registered Training Organisations and training vendors
  • Facilitation and delivery of applicable site and regional training.

 

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

 

Experience: Minimum of 3 year in a similar Training role (Mining),working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022, familiarity with Quartex database modules such as InTuition & Assessor App, ability to communicate effectively across all levels, effective delivery of training materials to crews, including PTW, knowledge,demonstrated experience in competency-based training and assessment methods, willingness to attain relevant equipment training and HRW licences as needed.

 

Qualifications: Current certificate IV in Training and Assessment –TAE 40116 or TAE 40122, Current “C” Class Australian Drivers Licence, Valid HRW Licences FL, EWP, W@H, & RIIHAN305D SOA.
