We have an enticing Trainee Process Technician residential position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on the convenience of an 7/7 (12-hour days and nights) roster.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Obtain skills and knowledge in each area as they are assessed and deemed competed for each section of the process plant, this development is both theoretical and practical with the Trainee having to successfully complete the minimum requirements of each section.
- Act as observer for the delivery of bulk reagents when required if gold room personnel are unavailable. Provide assistance to the Maintenance and Operations teams during plant downtime events as directed by the Processing Supervisor.
- Obtain training in specific licences to operate the equipment in the process plant. Complete High Risk Work Assessment as required by the Processing Department. Assist with the clean-up of the plant as required, including weekly crusher clean during shutdown.
- Display a clear commitment to safety and health and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment. Proactive involvement with continuous OHS improvement processes. Active participation in all communication and awareness systems.
- Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management. Operate in accordance with the Company’s Environmental Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience: Ability to work unsupervised once the trainee has attained the required level of competency for the area. Able to work as part of a team and foster team building relationships (be a good team fit). Work with attention to detail. Mechanical Aptitude. Computer literacy – Microsoft Office etc. Good communication skills.
Qualifications: Current Police Clearance. Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
