We have an enticing residential Senior Tradesperson – Fixed Plant Electrical (Shift) position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on the convenience of an 7/7 (12-hour days & nights) roster.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Provide hands-on daily leadership to a skilled team of electricians, coordinating and supervising the safe and efficient completion of scheduled preventative maintenance, planned upgrades, and urgent breakdown repairs on critical fixed plant equipment (such as mills, crushers, conveyors, pumps, and HV/LV systems).
- Execute the work in accordance with the schedule, scope, quality standards and within agreed timeframes. Record relevant job information during Execution to later capture in Pronto Following work completion, return equipment to Fit-For-Use condition (tools and waste cleared away, guards replaced, barricading removed, isolation locks removed etc) and close permits.
- Escalate issues to Fimiston Electrical Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner. Raise new Work Requests for new or additional work. Ensure Work Requests contain sufficient detailed scoping information and supporting documents, drawings and photos to allow for efficient and effective planning of works.
- Raise new Continuous Improvement (CI) Work Requests for corrections to the Maintenance Plans and supporting documents. Assume duties, as directed, during Shutdown Execution to enable the safe and efficient completion of works.
- Ensure compliance with the Work Health & Safety Act 2020 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022. Ensure compliance with Electricity Industry Act 2004 and Australian Standard 2467 – 2008 Maintenance of Electrical Switchgear. Demonstrate a pro-active approach to safety in line with Northern Star standards. Prioritise safety in all tasks and activities. Contribute to a team and culture which aligns with the KCGM vision, goals, and the Way We Work. Communicate effectively with all levels within the organisation in a courteous & proactive manner. Operate in accordance with Company’s Stakeholder Policy.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience: Experience in the mining industry, 4 years minimum. Ability to act as step-up for the Fimiston Electrical Supervisor on an as required basis. Experience high voltage (HV) systems, switchgear, motor controls, instrumentation, PLCs/automation and pneumatic systems. Carry out the risk management process RIIRIS402E OR Contribute to WHS risk management BSBWHS414. Implement and monitor WHS policies BSBWHS411. APPT-(STAT) - Electrical Supervisor. Sound understanding of Fixed Plant maintenance principals and their application in practice. Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Pronto Xi. Good communication skills. Flexibility to adapt to improved Asset Management procedures and practices.
Qualifications Electrical Trade Qualification. Current Western Australian A Grade Electrical licence. Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence. Low Voltage Rescue UETTDRRF06. Provide CPR HLTAID009. High Voltage Switching Operations Certificate. Desired Qualifications: Enter & Work in Confined Spaces RIIWHS202. Gas Test Atmospheres MSMWHS217. HRWL - EWP [WP], Forklift [LF], Rigging Basic [RB], Provide First Aid HLTAID011. Work Safely at Heights RIIWHS204. Statutory Supervisor (S26).
