We have an enticing residential, Senior Project Engineer (Tailings & Water) position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on the convenience of a 5/2, 4/3 (9-hour day) roster. 

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Provide technical expertise and project management support to the Tailings & Water team.
  • Manage design and approvals of tailings storage capacity and buttressing to ensure KCGM has sufficient tailings capacity to meet Life of Mine requirements
  • Manage TSF deposition planning to align with LOM requirements, rate of rise restrictions and plant throughput. Adequate storage capacity must be maintained.
  • Manage construction of TSF projects in accordance with the design and QAQC requirements.
  • Work with design Engineers to ensure that requirements for operational compliance are met. Includes inspections, audits, QAQC documentation and information tracking.
  • Ensure TSF monitoring is completed and reported in line with the site’s Tailings Management Plan and the Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring Plan.
  • Assist with the management of the capital budget for the Tailings & Water team including identification, planning and cost tracking programs.
  • Display a clear commitment to safety and seek to eliminate or control the risks
  • Manage all activities in a manner that minimises environmental harm.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: 7 to 10 years in a similar role including TSF construction, operation and monitoring. Strong project management skills and a strategic thinker.

Qualifications: Engineering Degree in Civil or Geotechnical from a recognised tertiary institution. Current “C” Class WA Drivers Licence.
