We have an exciting Senior Plant Metallurgist position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on the convenience of an 5/2:4/3 residential roster. 

**As this is a residential role, the successful applicant must reside in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region**

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Metallurgical team and oversee the performance management and environmental compliance for the Fimiston and/or Gidji processing facilities
  • Supervise and mentor the Fimiston/Gidji Metallurgical Team, providing training and support, to meet operational needs including the assignment of work and determining priorities for the team
  • Monitor and report on metallurgical performance on a regular basis to ensure key process information and/or identified threats and opportunities are communicated to relevant personnel in a timely manner
  • Work closely with Geologists and Mining Engineers to ensure a productive Mine-to-Mill relationship is maintained through active dissemination of information relating to plant performance.
  • Lead and assist in the annual budget process, and actively support the Metallurgical Superintendent in the preparation of Processing annual budgets and forecasts to ensure that all information is accurately reported to meet required timeframes.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: The successful applicant will have a Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an operational gold and hydrometallurgical mining-mineral processing environment, with at least two (2) years’ experience in a senior level position. This role will suit someone who has a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and influence others in a positive manner with proven time management, planning and organisational skills.

Qualifications: A tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline and current WA C Class Drivers License.
