Senior Mine Planning Engineer

  • This opportunity is offered on 4/3 roster, 12-hour days, either residentially based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder – the Heart of the Goldfields, or Fly-in Fly-out (FIFO) ex Perth.

We have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Senior Mine Planning Engineer to join our high performing Underground Technical Services team at our KCGM Operations. It is an exciting time to be part of the biggest growth story in Australian Underground Gold Mining, with experience to be gained that will be career defining

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the primary role is for the safe management and delivery of all Medium-Term Planning requirements within the Mining Engineering team.

 

What you can look forward to:

  • Design, optimise and provide cost analysis for underground mine plans. 
  • Design and develop long term plan for supporting infrastructure. 
  • Prepare and deliver rolling 36 months plan. 
  • Collaborate with operational department to ensure alignment in the plan 
  • Contribute to technical studies, trade-offs, and project evaluations to support strategic decision-making. 
  • Unearthing values and opportunities to the operational delivery. 
  • Assist Long term planning with Ore Reserve preparations in accordance with JORC code definitions and Life of Asset mine design generation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering 
  • +5 years’ experience in underground mining operations 
  • +2 years in UG Mine Planning and Scheduling roles 
  • WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (desirable) 
  • Unrestricted C Class drivers’ licence
