We’re seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our world-class KCGM Operations at the new Fimiston Underground Mine, which boasts a +10-year mine life and a long-term, fulfilling future. This role is available as either Kalgoorlie residential or FIFO, operating on a convenient 8/6 roster (12-hour days).

 

Here’s what awaits you: 

  • Appointment as statutory Ventilation Officer.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Project and Ventilation Engineers.
  • Manage and coordinate project mining activities to meet targets and schedules.
  • Prepare project schedules in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Communicate project updates at monthly mine planning meetings.
  • Develop and implement functional work plans to meet strategic goals.
  • Review and approve project and ventilation plans and instructions.
  • Initiate and manage improvement and infrastructure projects to enhance mine productivity.
  • Oversee ventilation processes and maintain internal reporting records.
  • Coordinate end-of-month summaries and KPI
  • Collaborate with Long-Term Planning Engineers to ensure adequate resources for Life of Mine schedules.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

 

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering.
  • WA First Class Mine Management Certificate.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in underground hard-rock mining.
  • Experience with Underground Hardrock Ventilation and Capital Projects
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in Deswik Software.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Valid “C” Class WA Driver’s Licence.

 

Desirable: 

  • St John’s Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • National Police Clearance (within 12 months).
  • First Class Mine Managers Certificate or ability to attain a ticket.
  • Awareness of the Work Health and Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
