We have a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to join our high performing Underground Technical Services team at our KCGM Operations at the new Fimiston Underground Mine. This opportunity is offered on a 4/3 roster, 12-hour days, either residentially based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder - the Heart of the Goldfields, or Fly-in-Fly-out (FIFO) ex Perth.

Reporting to the Underground Manager, the primary role is for the safe management and delivery of all development and production requirements within the Survey team.

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Develop, lead and provide professional development guidance to the Survey department.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of up to date job procedures and  practice standards for tasks performed within the team.
  • Lay out and maintain survey reference marks underground for control of drive development and stripping, stoping, service holes, rises and diamond drilling programs.
  • Regular surveys to control major underground features (eg. decline dimensions, gradient and directions, stope drive levels and orientations and long hole stopes).
  • Produce accurate monthly records for all underground workings with advance and stripping progress, surface excavations and ore stockpiles.
  • Provide accurate end of month figures and maintenance of mine survey records.
  • Collaborating with the Mining Engineers (Planning and Production) and the Mine Foreman, to ensure the survey priorities align with the operational team.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience in Underground gold mining.
  • Mine Surveyors’ Certificate Grade One (1).
  • Experience with Deswik Software.
  • Experience with Leica Instruments.
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.
