We have an exciting residential Senior (Mechanical) Maintenance Technician position available at our world-class KCGM Operation, boasting a +10-year mine life. This role offers stability, challenge, and a fulfilling future within an exceptional technical team, working on a convenient 7/7 roster (12-hour days and nights).

 

Here’s what awaits you: 

  • Execute and oversee work in accordance with the weekly schedule, ensuring tasks are completed within agreed timeframes and to the required quality standards. Record task details in Pronto and promptly escalate issues to the Fimiston Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Support shutdown execution as directed to ensure safe and efficient completion of work. Prepare rotables for return, manage unused parts, and raise detailed work requests for additional tasks.
  • Enter work hours (time confirmations) and work history notes in Pronto upon job completion. Order parts and materials for high-priority work orders as directed.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and proactively manage environmental responsibilities to prevent pollution and minimise impact.
  • Ensure compliance with the Work Health & Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022, demonstrating a proactive approach to safety in all tasks.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the mining industry.
  • Proven fault-finding and diagnostic experience on fixed plant equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability to evolving asset management practices.
  • Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems (desired).
  • Capability to act as a step-up Supervisor as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Pronto Xi.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting.
  • Current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
