We have an enticing residential Senior Maintenance Technician position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on the convenience of an 7/7 (12-hour days & nights) roster. 

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Execute the work in accordance with the schedule, scope, quality standards and within agreed timeframes. Record relevant job information during Execution to later capture in Pronto. Escalate issues to Fimiston Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Assume duties, as directed, during Shutdown Execution to enable the safe and efficient completion of works. Prepare any Rotables removed during work for return to Warehouse and return any unused parts and materials to stores. Raise new Work Requests for new or additional work. Ensure Work Requests contain sufficient detailed scoping information and supporting documents, drawings and photos to allow for efficient and effective planning of works.
  • Complete actual work hours (Time Confirmations) against Work Orders. Enter Work History notes for completed work and close the Work Order. Order parts and materials (add Components) for new Priority 1 and 2 Work Orders as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the workplace and manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment. Proactive in approach to environmental concerns. Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management.
  • Ensure compliance with the Work Health & Safety Act 2020 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.  Demonstrate a pro-active approach to safety in line with Northern Star standards. Prioritise safety in all tasks and activities. Attend the daily Team Pre-Start Meeting. Ensure that you know the tasks and Work Orders you have been allocated, and any associated safety, quality or other risks. Pro-actively rectify and report Hazards in the workplace.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting and Machining. Demonstrated fault-finding and diagnostic experience on Fixed Plant equipment. Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.

Qualifications Experience in the mining industry, 4 years minimum. Ability to act as step-up for the Fimiston Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor on an as required basis. Experience in Hydraulic and Pneumatic equipment. Carry out the risk management process RIIRIS402E OR Contribute to WHS risk management BSBWHS414. Implement and monitor WHS policies BSBWHS411. Enter & Work in Confined Spaces RIIWHS202. Gas Test Atmospheres MSMWHS217. HRWL - EWP [WP]. HRWL - Forklift [LF]. HRWL - Rigging Basic [RB]. Provide First Aid HLTAID011. Work Safely at Heights RIIWHS204. Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Pronto Xi. Good communication skills. Flexibility to adapt to improved Asset Management procedures and practices.
