Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, you’ll lead the implementation and continuous improvement of our Mine Health and Safety Management Plan, with a strong focus on risk management, compliance, and critical risk controls.

 

This is a residential position based in Kalgoorlie with a family-friendly 8:6 roster working 11-hour days, ensuring you can be home every night!

 

Here's what awaits you:

 

Risk & Compliance

  • Maintain and promote the site's Mine Health and Safety Management Plan
  • Review risk management documentation and ensure alignment with legislation and company standards
  • Lead the Critical Risk Management Program, including training, reporting, and trend analysis

 

Training & Auditing

  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections
  • Deliver training sessions and facilitate ChemAlert updates
  • Coach supervisors and support verification scheduling

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
  • Review injury classifications and reporting to drive performance improvements
  • Oversee health and safety initiatives across site operations

 

Reporting & Documentation

    • Monitor and report on Principal Mining Hazard Management Plans
    • Complete document control reviews and updates
    • Analyse critical risk data to support compliance and KPIs

 

 

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Minimum 3 years in a senior safety advisor or similar role
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the mining industry
  • Strong knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
  • Current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence
