Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, you’ll lead the implementation and continuous improvement of our Mine Health and Safety Management Plan, with a strong focus on risk management, compliance, and critical risk controls.
This is a residential position based in Kalgoorlie with a family-friendly 8:6 roster working 11-hour days, ensuring you can be home every night!
Here's what awaits you:
Risk & Compliance
- Maintain and promote the site's Mine Health and Safety Management Plan
- Review risk management documentation and ensure alignment with legislation and company standards
- Lead the Critical Risk Management Program, including training, reporting, and trend analysis
Training & Auditing
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections
- Deliver training sessions and facilitate ChemAlert updates
- Coach supervisors and support verification scheduling
Continuous Improvement
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Review injury classifications and reporting to drive performance improvements
- Oversee health and safety initiatives across site operations
Reporting & Documentation

- Monitor and report on Principal Mining Hazard Management Plans
- Complete document control reviews and updates
- Analyse critical risk data to support compliance and KPIs
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety
- Minimum 3 years in a senior safety advisor or similar role
- At least 3 years’ experience in the mining industry
- Strong knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
- Current WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence
