We are seeking an experienced Senior Geologist - Operations to join our KCGM Operations in the Fimiston Open Pit.
This residential role is on an 8/6 roster working 11-hour days.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Provide coaching and mentorship to a diverse team of mining geology professionals
- Coordinate daily geology department activities to align with a dynamic production cycle
- Become a custodian of one of the world’s great ore bodies, ensuring that value is maximised every day through sound decision-making and best practice mining processes
- Push the frontiers of mining geology, applying industry-leading solutions to enhance ore body knowledge and strengthen the mining value chain
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Expertise and Accomplishments:
- Minimum seven (7) years as a geologist in the resource industry, preferably within gold mining operations and/or open pit operations.
- Experience with mining and geology software packages such as Datamine, Leapfrog and Acquire.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in drill rig management, sampling, quality assurance and quality control (QAQC), open pit mining extraction methods and monthly reconciliation processes.
- Exposure to geological modelling and advanced grade estimation techniques.
- Previous leadership experience will be viewed favourably, though is not essential.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology (minimum degree).
- Current Unencumbered Western Australian "C" Class Drivers Licence.
