We are seeking a talented and dynamic Purchasing Officer to join our team. This is a maximum term 14 month fixed-term contract residential position at KCGM Operations with a 5/2, 4/3 (9-hour) days roster.
This is a transaction heavy role focusing on procure to pay process and providing support to our site-based teams with ordering and expediting their required goods and services.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure site purchase requisitions are accurate and in line with Company purchasing policy
- Convert site purchase requisitions into formal purchase orders and issue orders to suppliers
- Manage supplier confirmations of NSR purchase orders
- Proactively expedite goods and service orders in line with purchase order due dates
- Monitoring performance of Suppliers in relation to pricing, supply, and timing of deliveries
- Regular review of expediting to ensure follow up of receipting and any goods return is undertaken
- Negotiating purchasing arrangements for goods and services with suppliers
- Ensuring that purchase orders comply with Company policies and procedures
- Reviewing Purchasing policies and procedures and make recommendations for improvement
- Ensuring Purchasing policies and procedures are understood and adhered to by users
- Recording and reporting on savings made in Purchasing arrangements
- Assisting site with issues directly relating to their requisitions and purchase orders
- Assisting Finance Team with any PO and Invoice related queries
- Focusing on internal supplier and customer relationship and optimisation
Required skills and experience:
Demonstrated experience in a similar role (purchasing, buyer, accounts payable) and great understanding of all aspects of purchasing and inventory and a high level of computer literacy with a very good understanding of ERP systems, Pronto System experience preferred. Demonstrated data analytics skills accompanied by intermediate MS Excel experience. Excellent attention to detail and ability to efficiently process data. Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders; and Current Australian drivers' licence.
