We have an challenging but rewarding Production Coordinator position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Superpit that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed Open Pit Production team on the convenience of an 8/7:7/6 (8 Days On, 7 Days Off, 7 Nights On, 6 days Off) Kalgoorlie residential roster.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Being responsible for providing effective leadership and day to day management of the Open Pit Production team activities to achieve desired results, within the Open Pits department.
- Ensuring optimum equipment productivity is achieved subject to prevailing site conditions without compromising safety.
- Effectively managing, leading and motivating direct reports to reach high standards of performance in all areas. Setting clear performance and behavioural expectations of direct reports and providing appropriate supervision and support to ensure that all jobs are completed to the required standard in acceptable timeframes.
- Fostering strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including Technical Services, Maintenance, and Safety teams, to ensure alignment of production activities with operational objectives.
- Monitoring the daily, weekly, monthly reports to control the site and escalate information as required. Taking necessary actions to ensure production and financial success.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Qualifications:
- Schedule 26 or equivalent (desirable).
- Valid WA Quarry Manager’s Certificate of Competency (or ability to obtain).
- Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
Desired Experience & Competencies:
- Extensive practical experience (5 years +) in open pit mining operations, including Load & Haul and Drill & Blast activities.
- Proven ability to manage and lead production teams in a high-performance, safety-focused and cost effective environment.
- Previous experience managing, leading and promoting a safe, productive and cost effective workforce.
- Previous experience managing operational costs, drivers and corrective actions
- Effective operational planning skills with the ability to ensure that the production team meets or exceeds the required forecasts and/or budgets
- Proven positive track record in operational performance management
- Strong understanding of mining industry safety standards, rules and procedures
- Previous experience coordinating engineering and technical services to best optimise operational performance
- Previous experience in managing all aspects of personnel development, training and industrial relations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mining equipment capabilities, utilisation strategies, and maintenance coordination.
- Familiarity with relevant mining legislation, regulations, and health and safety standards.
- Competency in the use of mine production systems and software.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient computer and Microsoft office suite skills.
