We have an enticing 12-month fixed term residential Process Technician – Tailings & Water position awaiting you at the world class KCGM Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on the convenience of an 7/7 (12 hour days) roster. 

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Reporting to the Processing Supervisor – Tailings and Water and being responsible for tailings deposition, frequent area inspections, wildlife monitoring, freeboard management, tailings line management and maintenance to ensure our Tailings Storage Facilities are operated and maintained in accordance with Northern Star KCGM’s environmental, legal and safety standards.
  • This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates with previous tailings experience or some general operating experience wanting to take the next step with their career.  Previous experience will be highly regarded; however, it is not a requirement.  All necessary training will be provided.
  • Proactive involvement with continuous OHS improvement processes and active participation in all communication and awareness systems. Operate in accordance with and comply the Company’s Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natura environment.
  • Exposure to large Tailings Dams and water infrastructure, chemicals, cold, heat, dust,  noise, weather, confined spaces and heights. Communicate with other departments and other people on the Tailings Dams

Experience: Good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team and foster team building relationships (be a good team fit). Willingness to learn and grow within the company. Ability to retain and apply knowledge to day-to-day tasks.

Qualifications: Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
