Join our Project team as a Permitting & Shutdown Superintendent for the KCGM Mill Expansion Project in Kalgoorlie. Take charge of all permit and shutdown-related activities, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of project works. This exciting role is FIFO from Perth to Kalgoorlie on a rotating 2/1 roster.

 

Here’s what awaits you: 

  • Coordinate preparation, submission, and tracking of shutdown work permits.
  • Liaise with operations, HSE, and project teams to clarify and meet permit requirements.
  • Maintain a live permit register aligned with the shutdown schedule and ensure permits remain valid.
  • Ensure all high-risk activities are supported by correct permits and documentation.
  • Work with the Permit Authority to resolve issues and expedite permit approvals.
  • Monitor field compliance with permit conditions, escalating non-conformances as required.
  • Support shutdown planning meetings with permit status updates and activity coordination.
  • Conduct constructability reviews, risk assessments, and QA hold points, documenting outcomes.
  • Facilitate SIMOPs planning and integrated reviews for safe concurrent operations.
  • Support shutdown closeout by completing documentation, actions, and Lessons Learnt sessions.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in coordinating permits and shutdowns, a strong grasp of permit-to-work systems and high-risk work controls, and proven skills in stakeholder engagement, operational readiness, and problem-solving under pressure, with solid knowledge of safety legislation and standards.

Qualifications: Proven experience within the Construction and Operational Mining Industry, possess relevant training in Permit to Work systems such as ISSOW or ePTW, hold a valid Construction White Card, and preferably have High-Risk Work Licences.

Passion for Growth: Strong communication, adaptability, and a collaborative approach are essential, along with the ability to remain calm and solutions-focused in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
