Our KCGM Growth Project Team currently has a fantastic opportunity for an Operational Readiness – Training Advisor, to join the operational readiness team managing the major expansion and modernisation project at our KCGM Gold Processing Plant in Kalgoorlie.

 

Reporting to the Operational Readiness Manager - Processing, this position will be an initial 12-month-contract and can be either Kalgoorlie based (Residential only) working an ongoing 5/2, 4/3 roster or alternatively FIFO out of Perth, working an ongoing 4/3 roster.

The Operational Readiness – Training Advisor will be accountable for the execution of training deliverables required as part of the KCGM Growth Project operational readiness scope, along with supporting the commissioning and ramp up of the asset. You will also provide coaching, mentoring and developmental activities with the team, as well as offering guidance to the broader operational readiness team, helping drive a positive workplace culture that reflects NSR’s Core Values.

 

  • Assist in development and implementation of operational readiness strategy for training.
  • Engage and manage external resources where required.
  • Schedule and track progress of deliverables.
  • Engage with site stakeholders, promote collaboration with the project.
  • Develop, update and improve training materials and competency assessments.
  • Effective delivery of training materials.
  • Develop, or update training needs analysis.
  • Develop, or update role profiles.
  • Maintain, update learning management system data as required.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to broader operational readiness team.
  • Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and developmental activities to members of the team driving a positive workplace culture that reflects NSR’s Core Values.
  • Integrate solutions for current state processing opportunities. Identify issues/gaps which need resolution and create a management plan to implement improvements.

Success in this role will come from being a high-performing individual who has a passion for delivering 'best practice' training and driving continuous improvement. You will also understand the complexities involved in the delivery of large-scale mining, construction projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, along with demonstrated experience in competency-based training and assessment methods.

Experience:

  • Five-plus years of relevant experience in the hydrometallurgical processing industry.
  • Significant experience working within a training role or function (3+ years)
  • Gold processing plant experience, ideally including flotation & ultra fine grinding would be highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with INX database modules such as Intuition and the LMS.
  • Strong computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A sound working knowledge of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations / WHS.
