We are looking for a passionate and motivated Occupational Health Nurse to join our KCGM Operations in this Kalgoorlie residential role, working a 5/2: 4/3 9-hour day roster.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent you will ensure the health of our workers through the delivery of health services, health promotion, proactive injury management, monitoring of occupational health functions, supporting occupational hygiene programs, and the delivery of expert advice.
What you can look forward to:
- Provide emergency and non-emergency health care to site workers.
- Assist in managing the sites processes in relation to medical emergency preparedness through the regular review and updating of emergency procedures and response systems.
- Reviewing site access medical information.
- Ensure all injuries and illnesses are entered into the relevant NSR recording systems.
- Provide and where approved implement recommendations to ensure occupational health best practices are applied into the health care delivery service.
- Participate in H&S team programs where required on any health and hygiene matters as directed.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best health outcomes for workers.
- Prepare and deliver health care coaching and training, including defibrillator use and health-related topics, to personnel and Emergency Response Team members.

- Experience working in a similar environment (Mining industry, which includes the following):
- Hearing and Respiratory Fit Testing
- Workers Compensation and Injury Management.
- Managing emergency response situations in mining including liaising with off-site medical providers as required.
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, health information databases and safety reporting systems e.g. INX
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent, or
- Bachelor of Paramedical Science or accepted equivalent (such as 10+ years with a State Ambulance Service with appropriate “on road” prehospital and remote experience)
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current qualification or willingness to complete the Advanced Life Support (ALS) course.
- Current manual “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
