We have a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for a Mining Engineer to join our Open Pit Team at KCGM, based in Kalgoorlie on a residential 5:2/4:3 12hrs per day. Reporting to the Senior Drill & Blast Engineer, you'll help shape daily mine plans and support safe, efficient production.

 

Here's what awaits you:

  • Coordinate pit and ancillary designs to align with weekly plans.
  • Support Weekly Scheduling Engineers and the Senior Mining Engineer.
  • Lead planning and execution of weekly, monthly, and quarterly mine plans.
  • Manage weekly reconciliations, identifying risks and opportunities.

 

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

 

 

Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in open pit hard rock mining. Proficiency in Deswik CAD and Scheduler. Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Strong accountability and leadership mindset. Experience with drill and blast design software and scheduling a drill fleet to meet blasting requirements. Understanding of the environmental effects of operating and blasting near a community. Experience with mining contractors or operators. Familiarity with large teams and production coordination. Power BI experience.

 

 

Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering. Valid "C" Class Driver's Licence.
