Mining Engineer
We have a career defining opportunity for a Mining Engineer to join our high performing Underground Technical Services team at our KCGM Operations in the new Fimiston Underground Mine. This opportunity is offered on 8/6 roster, 12-hour days, residentially based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder - the Heart of the Goldfields.

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer and Underground Manager, the primary role is for the safe design and delivery of all day-to-day engineering functions - including data management, drill & blast plans, short term planning and scheduling, mine ventilation, mining projects and maintenance and improvement of mining systems, as well as other requirements within the Mining Engineering team.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Produce accurate and clear work instructions for mining activities.
- Ensure issued instructions are clear, correct, and understandable.
- Production Designs, QA/QC of production activities
- Assist in short term planning and scheduling, including development of weekly schedules to ensure priority deadlines are met for production activities.
- Work closely with operations and survey to prioritise and execute production and development activities.
- Reporting for all mining activities and compliance against schedule.
- Undertake improvement projects to optimise mining practices.

Accomplishment & Expertise
Candidates should have 2 years practical experience, preferably completion of underground practical time. Desirable skills include competency using Deswik UGDB with demonstrated working knowledge of various drill & blast techniques and practices. This coupled with understanding of forward planning and ability to be versatile is ideal. Underground mining engineering experience in a mechanised hard-rock underground mine. Awareness of the Work Health & Safety Act and Regulations (desirable). Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
Qualifications:
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, with a St Johns Senior First Aid certificate (desirable). Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence (Manual) is needed as well.
