We seek a strong Mining Engineer to join our Open Pit Team at KCGM Operations.
This role is Kalgoorlie residential on an 8/6 roster, working 11-hour shifts.
Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, this challenging and dynamic role will enable an experienced Mining Engineer to help schedule the daily mine plan and drive safe production from the operational team. The asset continues to grow, which is the ideal time for a candidate to join who wants to develop their career.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Coordinate the pit and ancillary designs to keep the mining tasks tracking against the weekly plan.
- Providing Support to the Weekly Scheduling Engineers and Senior Mining Engineer.
- Main point of contact for the Senior Mining Engineer for planning and executing the weekly, monthly, and quarterly plan.
- Manage weekly reconciliations highlighting areas of risk and opportunities.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years open pit hard rock mining experience.
- Experience using Deswik CAD and Scheduler packages.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to hold themselves and others accountable for their roles and responsibilities.
- Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.
Preferred
- Experience working with a mining contractor or working for a mining company.
- Experience designing drill and blast patterns with basic knowledge of drill and blast.
- Experience working in a bigger team and experience dealing with production supervisors or Production Co-ordinators.
- Experience using Power BI.
