We have a fantastic and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Mine Surveyor to join our high performing Underground Technical Services team at our KCGM Operations at the new Fimiston Underground Mine. This opportunity is offered on 8/6 roster, 12-hour days, residentially based in Kalgoorlie-Boulder – the Heart of the Goldfields.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor and Underground Manager, the primary role is for the safe delivery of surveying plans and systems as well as other development and production requirements within the Survey team.

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Setting out and marking up production drill plans ahead of the drill schedule.
  • Installation of development jumbo lasers and issuing of development memos.
  • Carry out end of month survey processes.
  • Collaborating with the Mining Engineers (Planning and Production) and the Mine Foreman, to ensure the survey priorities align with the operational team.
  • Performing regular void scans (Drone flight) for the stopes.
  • Diamond drilling set outs and collar pickups in line with the geological requirements for grade control and reserve definition drilling programs.
  • Training and mentoring the Surveying Graduates and vacation students in the correct methods and standards for Underground Surveying.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience in Underground gold mining.
  • Ability to obtain Mine Surveyors’ Certificate Grade One (1).
  • Experience with Deswik Software.
  • Experience with Leica Instruments.
  • Must reside in the Goldfields region, or willing to be relocated for this residential operation.
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.
