We have an enticing Metallurgist residential position awaiting you at the world class Kanowna Belle Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed technical team on the convenience of an 8/6 (12hr days) roster. 

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Identifying the hazards in their work area and using the correct controls to manage the risk. Reporting to the Supervisor immediately any actual or potential unsafe conditions or activities, mishaps, incidents, accidents, injuries or illnesses in the workplace.
  • Complying with all policies, procedures and rules in place at specific work locations. Display a clear commitment to safety and health and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment.
  • Operate in accordance with the Company’s Environment Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Manage all activities in a manner that prevents pollution and minimises damage to the natural environment.
  • Provide metallurgical and processing operations advice. Conduct plant investigations and improvement projects to improve recovery, increase throughput and reduce cost as required.
  • Monitor plant performance analyse operational/assay data and set up systems that provide performance trends that can be used to identify areas and opportunities to improve plant performance. Assist in developing the budget physicals and cost targets for the annual budget.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: Minimum 2 years relevant experience in the mining industry. Computer literacy – Microsoft Office (Extensive Excel skills is an absolute requirement). Effective communication skills and excellent data analysis skills. Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all processing tasks. Pragmatic approach to trouble shooting and problem solving and be familiar with process control systems.

Qualifications: Degree majoring in Metallurgical Engineering / Extractive Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution. Current “C” Class (manual) Western Australian Drivers Licence and a National Police Clearance.
