We have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an underground Geology Technician.
This opportunity is offered as residential in the Goldfields working a family friendly roster of 8/6, 11-hour days.
The successful candidate will assist in the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for subsequent analysis by Geologists.
Typical Tasks:
- Assist with drilling activities. Including: inspections, audits, and site checks.
- Monitoring of ore mining, stope checks, stockpile inspections.
- Assist geologists with geological mapping. Including: washing backs, face chips, and photos.
- Compilation of various data entry inputs.
Requirements
Essential:
- Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
Desired:
- Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft office products.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to plan daily activities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work unsupervised as required.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
- St Johns Senior First Aid certificate (desirable).
- Mechanical knowledge and skills (desirable).
- 4WD operation and recovery skills (desirable).
