We have an exciting new opportunity for an Environmental Advisor to join our talented and dynamic team at our Kalgoorlie Operations. This opportunity is offered as residential in the Goldfields, working a family-friendly 5:2 4:3 roster – 10 hours per day, reporting to the Environmental Superintendent.

 

The primary responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Assist in the review and ongoing maintenance of the sites Environmental Management System including the legal obligations register.
  • Ensure routine environmental compliance activities are completed and submitted on time.
  • Assist in the development of licence/permit/approval applications and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure environmental management plans & procedures are implemented, and associated monitoring programs are conducted.
  • Collate required environmental data and maintain monitoring databases, records and schedules.
  • Analyse and interpret monitoring data and identify trends.
  • Share the on-call responsibility with other team members.
  • Coordinate, supervise and manage contractors or consultants as required.
  • Consult and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Team’s objectives, targets and plans.
  • Participate in sustainability projects and business improvements.

 

Essential

  • Degree majoring in an Environment related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Minimum two (2) years relevant experience in the mining/resources industry.
  • Understanding of environmental impacts associated with a mining and processing operation.
  • Knowledge of applicable environmental legislation, standards and codes of practice.
  • Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office.

 

Preferred

  • Experience in database management programs, ArcGIS, Power BI, SharePoint
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) and auditing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt and respond to changes as they arise.
  • Ability to coordinate and motivate others to deliver outcomes.
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations, and commitment to safety.
