We are seeking an experienced Environment Superintendent – Kalgoorlie Region reporting to the Environment Management – Kalgoorlie Region. This is a residential role on a 5/2, 4/3 roster working 9 -hour days, primarily based at our KCGM Operations, with oversight across the Kalgoorlie Operations (KB and SKO).

- Display a clear commitment to responsible environmental management, safety and health, and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment or the environment.
- Operate in accordance with and comply with the Company’s Safety and Health Policy, Environmental Policy and Stakeholder Policy and with all site policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee compliance with all regulatory and company standards, ensuring site monitoring and reporting activities are completed on time, in line with requirements.
- Assist the team with coordinating technical studies required to support new projects, environmental approval applications, as well as managing existing approvals.
- Interpret legislation, government guidelines, and approvals to provide timely and professional advice to site operational teams in maintaining compliance and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Lead, develop and utilise team members by establishing clear expectations.
- Identify risks and opportunities, develop action plans, and deliver on commitments
- Facilitate statutory notifications, reporting and environmental incident investigations
- Maintain and implement effective Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and proactively drive continuous improvement
- Coordinate the identification, scoping and coordination of environmental projects and investigations
- Perform due diligence audits so that operations are environmentally and legally compliant and changes to legislation are implemented during operational, decommissioning and closure phases
- Stakeholder management and knowledge sharing through initiating and rolling out of environmental awareness campaigns as well as communicating best practices.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
Experience: 10+ years’ experience working in a similar environmental role, with at least 5 years relevant experience in the mining industry. Knowledge and experience in environmental approvals, auditing and compliance is also required, including environmental management system development and maintenance, such as ISO14001.
Qualifications: A Degree majoring in an environment-related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution. Current “C” Class WA Driver's Licence.
