Here’s what each position entails:
Truck Driver – 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off 12.5 hours (Days & Nights)
- Operating CAT 793 and 785 Haul Trucks in the Open Pit, working in conjunction with Face shovels, Excavators and Loaders, to fulfil production requirements in a safe and reliable manner.
- Operating Haul Trucks across various areas of the KCGM site, including the Fimiston Open Pit, Rehandle Ore Delivery area and other trainee-related activities to build your familiarisation to operating in a mining environment.
- Safely operating a Haul Trucks to transport ore and waste to designated areas to achieve production targets in the mine.
Geology Technician – 8 days on, 6 days off 11 hours (Days)
- Meter marking, photographing, cutting, and sample collection of core is completed in a timely manner and is in line with core processing priorities.
- Appropriate QAQC samples are included in all submissions. Sample submissions are completed in a timely manner with no errors. Transport of samples to the offsite laboratory
- Storage & accurate cataloguing of core in the core farm is completed thoroughly and in line with procedure. Assist in maintaining pulp and core library catalogues across site.
Process Technician - 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off 12 hours (Days & Nights)
- Hands on position with room for career progression. Seamlessly coordinate across shifts to share critical production info, maintaining and sampling from large-scale plant equipment in demanding conditions, and liaise with maintenance to keep operations running efficiently and safely.
- Proactively identify and complete operational checks, report anomalies, uphold strict safety and health standards, and contribute to continuous improvement while protecting people, equipment, and the environment.
To thrive in these roles, you’ll need:
Experience: Excellent communication and listening skills to be able to communicate over two-way radios, ability to work unsupervised as required and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices. A strong willingness to learn, with the ability to perform effectively in 12-and 12.5-hour shift environments involving repetitive tasks. Previous experience in physically demanding, hands-on roles within a safety-focused environment is desirable. Comfortable to work at heights for the Truck Driver and Process Technician roles.
Qualifications: Current “C” Class Australian Drivers Licence (manual preferred and automatic can be considered for Trucks and Process Technician roles). National Police Clearance within 12 months (desirable).
