We have an enticing Communications Technician position awaiting you at the iconic KCGM Superpit Operation that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, join our esteemed Open Pit Mining team on the convenience of an 8:6, 12-hour Day Kalgoolrie Residential roster. 

 

Here’s what awaits you:

 

  • Undertaking install tasks, along with scheduled, preventative and breakdown maintenance on a range of communication systems and equipment to support dispatch, site communications and reporting systems to meet production requirements. 
  • Conducting stocktakes of inventory levels of system parts and tools to function effectively, and place orders as required. In addition, perform regular housekeeping on work areas and vehicles.
  • Conducting regular inspection of all relevant equipment configuration and physical condition to support preventative maintenance programs.
  • Mentoring and coaching apprentices and comms techs as required.

 

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

 

Qualifications: Certificate III in Radio Communications / Electronic Servicing or other relevant discipline and/or experience. Open Cabler registration. Current unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Manual Drivers Licence.

Experience: Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate at all levels of the company. Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly developed computer literacy. Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills. 

Desired: Experience in an open pit mining environment. RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights, Elevated Work Platform – High Risk Work Licence, Technical knowledge of Motorola two-way radio systems, LTE networks & microwave links, Relevant FMS experience, both hardware and software configuration (preferably Wenco), St Johns Senior First Aid certificate,
