We have an enticing Blast Technician - Trainee position awaiting you at the iconic KCGM Superpit that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, your journey begins in a dynamic work environment with the Drill & Blast team at our Open Pit Mine on a family friendly residential 7:7 roster, 12-hour shifts with occasional night shifts, depending on the business requirement and mine cycle.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Carrying out Open Pit charging and blasting activities safely, and in accordance with the blast plan at our Fimiston Open pit.
- Completing a variety of physical tasks, quality control and use of blasting techniques.
- Opportunities to learn and grow within our Superpit blasting team.
- Accounting for all explosives used, participate in magazine, and shot reconciliations as per the statutory requirements and company procedures.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Ability to follow instructions safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work within a team environment yet independently as required.
- Strong attention to detail in repetitive tasks.
- Be willing to apply for West Australian Dangerous Goods Security Card.
- Be willing to apply for West Australian Shotfirers Permit.
- Current unencumbered Western Australian ‘C’ Class Manual Drivers Licence.
- Previous experience working in an industrial/labour intensive working environment highly regarded.
- You must reside in the Goldfield region for this residential opportunity.
