We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Business Development Executive to join our team. Based in Subiaco, this full-time role involves collaborating with our Business Development Team and requires occasional travel. 

 

Reporting to the General Manager - Business Development, you will bring your expertise to influence and support our strategic goals by working closely with corporate and site-based stakeholders. 

 

In this role, you will assist in the identification, analysis and execution of external growth and portfolio optimisation opportunities. You will provide analytical, project management and transaction execution support in evaluating and progressing these opportunities.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Analyse and evaluate strategic initiatives, acquisition, divestment and investment opportunities and detailed industry analysis. This includes discounted cash flow modelling, trading comps, technical study reviews, accretion and dilution analysis, resource and reserve multiples and earnings multiple analysis.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Perform company, industry and market research for senior management to support ongoing development of the company strategy.
  • Support the inorganic investment strategy and deal origination and execution activities through quantitative analyses, preparing for and participating in discussions with external advisors, and attending industry and sector events.
  • Engage and build internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to derive and progress growth opportunities.

 

Required skills and experience:

 

  • Exhibit self-motivation, taking the lead in solving problems and implementing solutions.
  • Have an interest in and understand capital markets and mergers and acquisitions fundamentals.
  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Bring prior experience in business development, corporate finance, investment banking, M&A, management consulting, or private equity M&A, demonstrating executed transactions.
  • Demonstrate a robust understanding and practical application of financial modelling and valuation concepts within the mining sector.
  • Possess experience in the resource sector, preferably in gold, with available strong references.
  • Display exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Possess adept analytical skills and quantitative proficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively, exerting influence, negotiating skills, and building solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced environment.
