About the position:

Northern Star Resources are searching for a seasoned Processing Trainer & Assessor to join the field leadership team at our Carosue Dam Operations. This is a site-based position working on 8/6 rotation FIFO ex Perth, Busselton or BIBO ex Kalgoorlie.

The Processing Trainer & Assessor reports to the Processing Superintendent and the primary role is to provide training and development to personnel within the Processing Department and to support in the development, review, and delivery of non-accredited and accredited training programs in line with Northern Star's Standards and Procedures.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Work with supervisors and managers to ensure that competencies, compliances and procedures required for each role reflect the work they undertake.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge and skill for Training and Assessing qualifications and hold vocational competencies for tasks being trained and assessed against.
  • Work with supervisors to maintain an acceptable standard of training competence.
  • Maintain the training data base for relevant departments (including contractors) as required and/or directed.
  • Keep up to date records of all personnel training records.
  • Assist in reviewing for accuracy of programs, implementing, and promoting operating procedures, standards, and training for Northern Star operations to meet industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance of personnel with site and corporate training requirements.
  • Ensure personnel complete training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Attend & host prestart meetings and provide feedback as required.
  • Carry out KPI workplace inspections and safety interactions.
  • Conduct Department specific inductions and assist with site inductions as required.
  • Provide support for the HSEC department and cross-department assistance as required.

 

Required skills and experience:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Proven experience in process plant operation and maintenance with relevant mobile plant high risk licences and tickets.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, INX Leaning Management System.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all training related tasks.
  • Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
  • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
