We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Light Vehicle Fitter awaiting you at our Carosue Dam operations, located 700kms inland from Perth & 120kms north from Kalgoorlie. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, this position is offered on 8 days on 6 days off rotation, FIFO ex Perth and DIDO for Kalgoorlie residents. The Light Vehicle Fitter reports to the Maintenance Supervisor, with a primary role of maintaining light vehicles and associated ancillary equipment to minimise downtime and to ensure targeted machine reliability is achieved between planned maintenance tasks within the operations.

 

Here's what awaits you...

  • Work within the mobile maintenance team to ensure all activities (breakdowns, follow-up work, PMs, planned work etc) are performed in a safe, timely, professional, and effective manner.
  • Provide key involvement in addressing safety issues and undertaking safety investigations, ensuring root causes are identified, and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Organise all permits as required (e.g. isolations, confined space, hot work and dig permits).
  • Highlight equipment defects and issues effectively utilising the maintenance management process.
  • Liaising with the LV Coordinator to ensure any additional tasks identified are captured in the planning process and required parts are available as required.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need...

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years practical experience as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, preferably in a mining environment. Excellent fault-finding skills and ability to carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance.
  • Qualifications: Mechanical Trade Qualification, Current Australian Drivers Licence, A/C Refrigeration Licence (preferred),
