About our role:

Northern Star has a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Fixed Plant Electrician to join us at our world-class Jundee operations. This opportunity is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off permanent roster with FIFO ex Perth only.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Working as part of the maintenance team, providing an effective and responsive maintenance function to the production section.
  • Completing preventative maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor or from Work Order instructions.
  • Completing breakdown maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor or from Work Order instructions, including attending to call outs when rostered ‘Duty on Call.'
  • Completing statutory maintenance as required by MSI regulations and completing log book entries.
  • Actively participate in all safety activities and safety meetings.
  • Working safely at all times, using correct personal protective equipment and following safety procedures.
  • Undertaking duties to assist other departments, trades or operations when available.
  • Ensuring relevant environmental considerations are taken into account from work orders, particularly hydrocarbon management (oil spills etc.)
  • Installing and setting up new electrical equipment as required from time to time.
  • Develop and carry out HV switching programs and issue HV permits.

 

Required skills and experience:

  • Electrical Trade Qualification
  • WA Electrical Licence
  • Cert 3 Instrumentation or Higher - Desirable
  • PLC (preferably Allen Bradley), Citect and field instrument experience - Desirable
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within the mining industry
  • HRWL EWP & working at heights accredited
  • Nationally accredited HV switching Certificate
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning principles and procedures
  • Experience with Pronto
