About the role:

Northern Star Resources has an exciting opportunity at our world-class Carosue Dam Operations for an expereinced Fixed Plant Boilermaker working on the Processing Plant. The role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off rotation, FIFO ex Perth.

The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor (Fixed Plant), and the primary role is to ensure that all scheduled and unscheduled boilermaker maintenance activities for the Process Plant are properly planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all Northern Star standard requirements.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Manoeuvre around machinery and machinery compartments.
  • Ensure the execution of all boiler making maintenance activities for the Process Plant.
  • Receive and discuss daily instructions from Supervisor and Leading Hand.
  • Maintain statutory records for all equipment in the fixed plant.
  • Create work requests in Pronto based upon inspections with appropriate priorities assigned to ensure services are maintained.
  • Review and update drawings/design details.
  • Work within the Mechanical Team to ensure all activities are performed in a safe, timely, professional and effective manner.
  • Provide technical advice to fellow team members.
  • Execute work and ensure correct history recorded in Pronto by communicating with Supervisor and Leading Hand.
  • Detailed notes on the actual task completed and recorded on the work order.
  • Accurate recording of man hours on the work order.
  • Accurate recording on work order of parts used to complete the task.
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained.
  • Provide key involvement in addressing safety issues and undertaking safety investigations, ensuring root causes identified and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Order parts and equipment for all unplanned jobs as necessary. Return unused parts to designated areas.

 

Required skills and experience:

  • Relevant Trade Qualifications.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Prior experience as a Boilermaker in the mining industry.
  • Ability to interpret drawings.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to pass a National Police Clearance
