About the role:

 

Northern Star Resources has a new & exciting leadership opportunity for a Production Co-Ordinator at our world-class Thunderbox Operations. The Production Co-Ordinator reports to the Processing Superintendent or delegate, and the primarly role is to lead the processing operational team to safely and efficiently operate all aspects of the processing plant. We are seeking experienced candidates who are focused and driven, with a preference to work FIFO ex Perth on 8 days on 6 days off rotation. 

 

Here's what awaits you...

  • Train the Processing Department in how to run the plant efficiently and safely.
  • Identify and coordinate improvement projects as required to allow department targets to be met.
  • Assist the Maintenance Department to meet the maintenance schedule and plan.
  • On call for after-hours safety and production matters.
  • Manage the performance of the processing staff via training programs, performance management and appropriate discipline.
  • Manage the department roster and ensure adequate coverage to safely and efficiently operate the processing plant.
  • Ensure the training matrix is maintained and that processing staff receive the required training.
  • Ensure talent is identified and have a succession plan in place.
  • Complete basic metallurgical functions – manage the blend, report daily performance and make operating decisions based on daily assay results.
  • Ensure that the department SOPs are current and updated as required.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need...

 

Experience: 10 years’ experience in operating crushing, grinding, gravity, leaching, elution, gold smelting circuits and tailings storage facilities; 5 years’ experience as a Leading Hand or Supervisor of a processing crew; Incident investigation skills; Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices; Computer literacy – email, Word, Excel; PRONTO experience (desirable); Preferable INX experience (desirable).

Qualifications: ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Certificate IV in Training and Assessing(Desirable); Certificate IV in Frontline Management (Desirable); Preferable ICAM incident investigation skills (Desirable) & Current “C” Class Australian Driver's License.
