About the role:

Northern Star Resources has an exciting leadership opportunity at our Jundee Operations for a dynamic and driven Maintenance Supervisor working FIFO ex Perth on 8 days on 6 days off rotation.

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Superintendent, and the primary role is to lead the Maintenance Operations team in a safe and productive work environment by ensuring all work practices/procedures meet company safety & operational standards within the statutory standard.

 

Here's what awaits you...

  • Manage maintenance personnel to ensure the effective maintenance of plant and ancillaries so that business targets and goals are achieved to maximum effect.
  • Work closely with the Process Supervisor/s to ensure the process plant and facilities available are such that the key resources and assets are effectively utilised and optimised.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted to achieve lowest cost production.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Management of all activities so that they are carried out in a cost effective manner.
  • Effective control of costs by monitoring and controlling KPI's to optimum levels with the assistance of team members.
  • Manage the performance of employees through the Performance Review Development Plan process and ensure improvement and development targets are implemented.
  • Lead the training and development of staff through following up on needs identified through the Performance Review Development Plan process as well as development and follow through on competency profiles developed for all roles reporting.

 

To thrive in this role, you'll need...

  • A trade qualification (desirable), frontline management or equivalent (desirable) valid Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Sound understanding of fixed plant maintenance principals and their application in practice.
  • Sound knowledge of operation of fixed processing plant equipment.
  • High level of knowledge in statutory safety and environmental requirements relevant to plant maintenance and classified plant.
  • Good level of knowledge in computer literacy, in particular Pronto and MS Office.
  • Solid awareness of Maintenance Management Systems and maintenance practices in a processing environment.
  • Ability to plan and or anticipate likely scenarios as related to all key responsibility areas.
  • Able to effectively allocate the organisation's resources to achieve business requirements.
  • Effective time management.
  • Ability to develop appropriate action plans in order to respond to current and emerging issues.
