About the role:
Northern Star Resources has an exciting opportunity at our world-class Carosue Dam Operations for an experienced Fixed Plant Fitter working on the Processing Plant. The role is offered on 8 days on 6 days off rotation, FIFO ex Perth & Busselton, with BIBO options for Kalgoorlie residents.
The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and the primary role is to ensure that all scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance activities for the process plant are properly planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all Northern Star standard requirements.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Perform servicing and preventative maintenance on fixed plant
  • Assessing the assigned job and obtaining tools and equipment to complete the assigned work
  • Service breakdowns including pumps and conveyors Processing and crusher part replacements and repairs
  • Ensure quality of information in CMMS (Pronto) database by providing accurate history, job time, hours worked and feedback to Supervisors.
  • Operate in accordance with and comply the Company's Safety and Health Policy, and with all site policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Operate in accordance with the Company's Environment Policy, and comply with other site environmental policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in an call out roster as required

 

Required skills and experience:

  • Trade qualifications in Mechanical Fitting and/or Machining.
  • Demonstrated fault-finding and diagnostic experience on fixed plant equipment.
  • Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Carry out routine inspections of machinery and fixed plant including preventative measures and condition reporting.
  • Crusher and Mill experience.
  • Centrifugal pump rebuild experience.
  • Hydraulic fault finding and diagnostics favourable.
  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience in the mining industry.
  • Computer literacy - Microsoft Office, Pronto (preferred)
