About the opportunity:

Northern Star Resources have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Advisor to join the growing team at our Carosue Dam Operations, this is offered an 8/6 roster, FIFO ex Perth.  

 

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Provide support to the Environmental Superintendent in the development, communication and effective implementation of the Environmental components of the Company’s Environment Management System across the Operations.
  • Provide guidance to the Operations Teams to meet internal and external environmental compliance obligations.
  • Contribute to ensuring the effective operation of the Company’s Environment Management System across the operations, and identifying and recommending business improvements.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, collection, internal and external reporting, records keeping and interpretation of reliable environmental data including maintaining a compliance register identifying prescribed statutory accountabilities and the site personnel with those primary accountabilities.
  • Review internal clearing permits and provide advice to proponents regarding clearing and maintaining all the necessary clearing records.
  • Assist in providing timely, accurate and relevant environmental management-related services and support (eg, advice, environmental training and inductions, reviews, reports, and contribution to activities such as environmental risk assessments, incident investigations, and water, land management, rehabilitation, and flora and fauna management strategies) to the site managers.
  • Carry out workplace environmental compliance inspections and provide coaching and instruction to employees and contractors.
  • Ensure timely, accurate reporting (internal/external) to Environmental Superintendent and other relevant internal and external parties.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: Demonstrated experience in a similar role, with practical understanding of environmental regulatory environments, best practice and general environmental systems and procedures. Experience in a mining and/or heavy engineering environment also required.

Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental related discipline or similar
