We have an enticing Production Employee – Ancillary Operator position awaiting you at the iconic KCGM Superpit that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, your journey begins in a dynamic work environment at our Open Pit Mine on a family friendly residential 7:7 roster.

 

Here’s what awaits you:

 

  • Being directed by Shovel Operators to ensure benches are maintained to the correct levels with good housekeeping to ensure effective mining operations.
  • Ensuring dumps are maintained at correct Relative Level (RL), running surfaces (roads) on dumps and pit floors are smooth and level with all dips filled and protrusions ripped, to meet operating standards.
  • Responsible for minimising dilution by not mixing waste and ore, digging ore blocks in the correct direction and facing up ore blocks (front and back) at the correct angles.
  • Liasing with the Shovel Operator how the bench will progress and be removed, identifying hazards and opportunities before they occur to maximise the efforts of all shovel and truck movements, using the digging plan map to remove product to the plan, and mark up all voids as either black/white or red/white areas by the end of each day.
  • Operating the digger to “pull batters” and load out batter material, this ensure walls are safe and no loose material is likely to fall, also reclaim the Pit edge as much as possible to ensure all good grade product can be collected.

 

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ operation of various large production mining machinery in an open pit mining or quarry environment.
  • Minimum two (2) years, all-round experience on a variety of heavy mining machinery, eg loaders, excavators, water trucks, haul trucks, dozer.
  • Strong understanding of mining sequence process and activities.
  • Good computer literacy with the ability to use integrated management systems, spreadsheet applications and word processing software.
  • Exposure to a range of workplace safety systems.
  • Must reside locally in the Goldfields region, or willing to relocate for this residential role.
  • National Police Clearance (valid within last 12 months).

Preferred

  • Dispatching experience.
  • Current Quarry Managers Certificate
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “MR” Class Drivers Licence.

Qualifications: Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.
